Merci!
-Unfortunately, despite all efforts, we do not always find the owner of a found bird. Sometimes people who found a bird, can not keep him. In this section, it is allowed to publish a formal adoption or your desire to adopt a particular species. However, birds for sale or trade are prohibited. If you need to recover some of your costs, you can discuss it with the concerned person in private. Thank you!

****Perroquetsecours Adoption ****(anglais/english)

Perroquetsecours has been mandated to find the best possible family for the following bird (s) presently in Gatineau QC:

Name : Lili and Tiky
Species : cockatiel and pineapple conure
Age : 3 and 5 years old
Leg band or microchip : conure has a legband
Sex : both presumed male
Adoption : February 2018
Adopted from : Perroquetsecours
The birds are presently in: Gatineau QC

Habits and personality: (text based on information provided by the current owners)

Lili and Tiky fly freely in the house. Both birds have been raised together. They are a couple who look like mismatched, but are inseparable. Whether one or the other is the first to come on our shoulder, to land on the ground, to be interested in a new object, the other follows immediately. They sleep on the same perch, they expect (and quarrel) to eat together and clean each others feathers on the head and in the neck. When they explore a new room or a cardboard box, it looks like one is watching while the other discovers if everything is OK. Their cage is in the dining room, well lit with natural light, in the center of attention of everything that happens in the backyard, the kitchen and the living room. Their cage is always open and they come and go as they please everywhere in the house. When they come on the shoulder, they stay quiet while we walk to other rooms and the basement. They are easy to put back in their cage for the night. They eat everything from rice, noodles, eggs, toast, fresh fruits and vegetables, but sulk the pellets for now. They eat from our fingers. Lili will come on our hand but not Tiky. Tiky likes to take a bath in a bowl or under a tap water stream. Lili is less often tempted. Lili sings '' Agadou Dou Dou '', the musical theme of the Montreal Canadiens, does the wolf whistle and says '' comment ça va? ''. Tiky mimics the sound of water drops, makes clicker noises, says '' biscuit '' and '' pti bébé ''. They are curious and interested in everything that goes on: washing dishes, eating, exploring an opening cupboard door. They can spend long moments forgetting that we are there and taking care of one another. Earning their trust will be an asset.

Reason for placing in adoption:

Very strong bond created with one of the two people, less pleasant for the other who gets bitten. The adoption fee for these birds is $60.00 for both birds, must be adopted together and not be separated. They have a big cage where they both live, that the adopter will be able to purchase for a minimal fee of $40.00. We will be very selective.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you’re interested to adopt this bird or wish to have more information, please contact Perroquetsecours at the following link: adoption@perroquetsecours.com or call 450-567-8765 or fill out our web form at the following link: http://www.perroquetsecours.com/?page_id=1860
Perroquetsecours will make a pre-selection for the current owner and will submit the names of the candidates selected that meet our rigorous criteria for adoption. The final choice of the adoptive family among all candidates will be at the sole discretion of the current owner.

Perroquetsecours must, on a regular basis, put some unclaimed found birds up for adoption and in doing so, it updates a database of candidates interested in adopting a parrot. Therefore, and although this is not its main mission, in exceptional circumstances and at its own discretion, it happens that Perroquetsecours agrees to intervene to help a person in need to find a new family for one or more of their birds.
